Building Capacity, Reinforcing Resilience, Bridging Skills
Public Safety Personnel, healthcare workers, teachers and support staff often are required on the front line to navigate different mental health presentations and varying levels of distress from individuals in community, care, and classroom. Connection is key, and that is at the forefront of what we teach in using skills of validation and emotion support to communicate, deescalate, and connect. We teach practical tools and strategies to front line staff to maximize effectiveness, and reduce distress.
We are registered mental health professionals bridging our skills and training to support front line organizations including Public Safety Personnel, School Districts, Healthcare, and Corporate businesses in resourcing staff and promoting mental health and wellness.
Teaching frontline staff how to use the skills of validation, emotion-support, and practical-support to connect, communicate, and support in the moment to de-escalate situations and support more positive outcomes.

Services

Public Safety Personnel
Trainings provided for Public Safety personnel organizations including Fire, Ambulance, Police, and Search and rescue teams. Recent trainings on how mental health can present in the field, approaching and communicating with mentally distressed subjects using Emotion-Focused Support strategies, as well as resiliency and mental health support for teams pre-and post-incident. Trainings also can be tailored based on specific identified needs.
School Districts
Emotion-Focused School Support (EFSS) will support school staff in: 1. regulating child/adolescent emotion with a focus on “return to learning”, 2. preventing emotional escalations, and 3. de-escalating outbursts in progress. Strategies also provide staff with tools to work with challenging parent presentations, including those who present with anxiety, shame, resentment or criticism. EFSS also involves opportunities for school staff to identify their strengths and challenges when faced with emotional situations with students, their caregivers and with colleagues, and in a manner that is respectful and compassionate.
Healthcare
Trainings provided for healthcare staff on communicating with mentally distressed subjects using Emotion-Focused Support strategies as well as trainings on compassion fatigue, burnout, and how to promote and sustain a healthy team. Trainings also can be tailored to specific identified needs.
